At The Cat Doctor, each kitten's first year of care is customized based on specific needs. Just like human children, kittens require additional physical exams and vaccine boosters to ensure that they get the very best start in life.
Our recommendations for your kitten's first year:
Physical Exams: Your cat's lifetime of wellness starts with its first visits to us. Kittens must receive a series of properly timed exams and vaccines. During these exams, we will assess your kitten’s overall health as well as check and treat for parasites and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
Vaccinations: Due to their immature immune systems, kittens must receive a series vaccines. Since every kitten is unique, we tailor our vaccination recommendations based on our exams and discussions with you.
Diagnostic Testing: We recommend that kittens are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) if not done previously.
Additional Recommendations: We can also also discuss proper nutrition, play habits, and any speical requirements your kitten may need. We may recommend other services, such as spaying and neutering or microchipping that can lead to a longer and healthier life for your cat.
